Helen was a classmate of mine at the London Teachers’ College. Helen was an awesome young lady, gifted with a personality and sense of humour which could be rivalled by few. Helen always referred to me as, “The love of her life,” in the most kidding of ways. I last saw my friend at a reunion of the Class of 1964 in 2009. As always, Helen was so personable and full of life. I feel extremely saddened to learn of her passing but realize that Helen, as a person of faith, is doing just fine. To her family, and friends, I express my most sincere condolences.

Dear Jennifer and Marc,
My heartfelt condolences to you and your families on the loss of your mom Helen. Your Mom, Miss Frydryszczyk, was my second grade teacher at St. Raphael's in St. Thomas, ON. Then many years later we met again. She surprised me at parent-teacher interviews at RMC where I had the privilege to teach you. It was so wonderful to reconnect!
May your many memories bring you much comfort and peace. May your Mom be dancing with joyful peace in heaven.
Keeping you all in prayer,
Miss Novacich

Mrs. Helen Green was a remarkable school teacher! She loved her students and cared deeply for each one showing no partiality! I was privileged to be her student twice, in grade 7 and 8 class of ‘86 and ‘87. She encouraged me and believed in me, spurring me on! She gave me a gift in grade 8 “Words to Live By” that I have cherished all these many years. Sincere condolences to her beloved family and friends.

Dear Ciocia Helen,
We still can’t believe you’re gone and losing you has left such a void in our family. We have been reminiscing on our wonderful memories with you for comfort and to celebrate everything you mean to us.
We will miss your smiley arrival at Sunday dinners and sitting poolside with you on beautiful Summer eves. We will miss pouring you a generous Scotch and toasting being together. We will miss your pies (Derek may never eat another slice of lemon meringue now) and famous chocolate dessert with a salacious name. We will miss putting on the Beer Barrel Polka to dance around the Christmas tree with you and singing along to your old classics. We will miss your famous back rubs and soothing head scratches. We will miss the lively debates and wise advice you’d share around the table. We will miss your encompassing hugs and kindness most of all.
You were a constant all my life and then again for Harry and Charlie - someone that I was so blessed to bring into their young lives. We will carry your warmth and your smile with us always. We love you eternally. XOXOXO

Mrs. Green will always be remembered as the greatest and most caring teacher I had. I can still hear her distinct voice reading to us in class.
I am so very greatful I had the pleasure to run in to her at Harvey's in Strathroy, a couple years back.
It gave me the opportunity to thank her for caring so much. Helping me through some troubled times in public school. Mrs. Lysko was there having lunch with her. Im sorry I never followed up so you could meet my son Helen. You will always be remembered by my family. You helped to shape me and I will never forget that. I love you.

My sympathy and prayers to Helen’s family and friends on the death of Helen. Helen was a substitute teacher when I was teaching at OLI. She was the BEST. I always knew my class was in good hands. She loved teaching and was loved by the students. They enjoyed having Mrs Green as a substitute. I was so happy when she became a permanent member of our wonderful fun-loving staff. Those years are full of such great memories. I was so pleased when Helen became Pastoral Minister. I

Mrs. Green would have been my Gr. 8 teacher, but she fell ill with breast cancer early in the school year and our class ended up with her temporary replacement. I was so sad because I had already known from being her student in one subject, she was just amazing. Also, my siblings had the pleasure of being her student and the positive effect it had was just something you wanted as well. She was a pure soul, genuine to the core and her love for teaching and for the students was equally displayed. She will be missed tremendously. The world needs more Helen Anne Green’s.

Had the pleasure of being in Ms Green’s Gr 8 class. She was one of the best teachers Ive had, always had patience to sit down and help you when needed, always treated everyone the same. But still remember the glare she would give when the class was acting up, she brought us back in line pretty quick lol. Every time I would see her outside of school through out the years, when you say hi to her she would light up with that big smile and want a big hug. Ms.Green was also involved with my family through the church while we went through the battle and passing of my dad from cancer, the house visits….. everything, the angel pins she gave us on the day of his funeral. She will be deeply missed down here, but highly valued up there. Rest easy Ms Green

My very favourite teacher of all time.
She fed me half her lunch when I was an adolescent struggling with my body image and thought starving myself was the answer. She talked to me about boys and having respect for myself. She talked to me about friendships and who to invest in, and who to pray for and let go. She helped me talk about my parents divorce, their dating new people, and the pain that came with blending families from broken marriages. She was so much more than a teacher, she was a counselor, a friend, a motivator, and a cheerleader for so many students.
I hope heaven is absolutely amazing because it just gained another angel. I am thinking of and praying for her family and closest friends, because this loss is great.
It's been a few years since I talked to her, but I was able to tell her how much she impacted me, and about my life as a nurse, a wife, and a mom. Please hug my Mom and Dad for me Mrs. Green, this one hurts.

She offered great support to me when I discerned my desire to enroll for the Certification of Pastoral Ministry course, was a great confidant and support to my husband Tony, who worked at All Saints Parish with Helen, and most of all for her guidance, mentoring and encouragement given to my daughter Nicole, one of her students at SVDP school. This song will always make me think of you and all you have done for me and many others. Xo Rest in Peace.
"IN YOUR HANDS
(Song for my Teacher)
Teacher, I wrote this song for you
To thank you for every smile
I know you had a lot to do
I’m glad that you paused awhile
You took time to listen, and to hear
To laugh, and just be there
I heard that lesson loud and clear:
I mattered to you – you cared
CHORUS:
‘cause
WHEN YOU REACH OUT, AND YOU TOUCH ME WITH YOUR HEART
THEN YOU HOLD WHAT I’M BECOMING IN YOUR HANDS
AND THOUGH YOU’RE WITH ME JUST AWHILE
TODAY YOU HOLD TOMORROW’S SMILE
IN YOUR HANDS ... IN YOUR HANDS ... IN YOUR HANDS
Teacher, I wrote this song for you:
Melody, words and rhyme
Lessons you taught me yesterday
Have disappeared into time
But, teacher, I never will forget
A look you gave to me
I saw reflected in your eyes
The somebody I could be
CHORUS (twice)"
