I am so saddened by the loss of this great man and one of my best friends. I first met Chris in 1991 when he transferred to Sudbury with Imperial Oil. I was much younger in my career with Imperial than Chris. Through working together, we formed almost an immediate friendship, which quickly extended to his wife Wendy and my wife Jeannie.
Chris and I had a common love for music - he had a past as a drummer, as did I. Chris wanted to learn to play guitar, and if he did that, the deal was, I’d buy a set of drums and we would start a band. Christmas, 1991, Wendy upped the stakes by buying Chris a beautiful black and white Fender Strat and a Traynor amp. I held up my end of the deal and bought a new Tama 5-piece kit and The Valley Basement Boys were born. Over the next 3 decades through company moves and raising families, we always remained close to Chris, Wendy, Nancy, Jeff and Brittany. Almost every time we visited, a jam was the focus of the visit. Chris was in many established bands over the years and I got a chance to play with many of Chris’ band mates, including Nancy and Jeff, who like their Dad, were gifted with musical talent and the desire to grow their musical interest. We had so much fun together.
Chris was my mentor, my confidant, my teacher and my very good friend. I love you Chris, and like Wendy, I will miss you forever. Rest in peace, Sensei Chris.

I am saddened to hear of Chris' passing. We crossed paths in high school at PDCS, later often road home together from Hamilton on Friday nights and of course worked together those early years at Nanticoke then again later in Sarnia. Always kind and full of fun. Rest easy Chris.

So very sad to hear of Chris’ passing. Chris and I started our careers together in 1976 during the construction of the Nanticoke refinery and continued to work for the comptroller’s dept until he departed to Hanmer in the mid 80’s. We carpooled together for a few years and shared many laughs along the way.
The Cliff Birds crib tourney’s that Chris enjoyed so much were world famous… we’ll miss ya Dutch… Rest In Peace my friend

My Dad was the best Father, Husband, Opa, in Law, Brother, Uncle, and Son that anyone could ever hope for. He was the smartest kindest, most gentle, caring, generous, giving, and talented man I know. I am ever thankful to have had him as my Dad, who made me the person I am today. He will be so missed by many.
He was my Hero. I love you my Daddy.
Love, your Little Monchichi.

I am at a such loss after hearing of Chris’ passing. I interacted with Chris many times over the years from when he was a young accounting clerk at Nanticoke Refinery to the roles he held at Sarnia Refinery and again back at Nanticoke. He was such a great and enjoyable person to work with. Over the 35 + years I knew Chris these working relations turned into a great friendship. I will truly miss Chris. May God bless him and his family.
