Obituary of Gerardus Josef Thuss
Thuss, Gerardus Josef “Jerry”
It is with great sadness we announce the passing of Gerald (Jerry) Thuss, on Friday, November 18th, 2022, surrounded by his loving family in the comfort of his home. Jerry is survived by his wife Darlene Thuss, his children, Kimberley Mendonca, Sharlene Ruiz (Francisco Jr.) and Tanya Thuss (Adam Solomon); and his step-children Jason Young and Sandra Vrbos “Sandi” (Harry Gregory). Jerry was the proud grandpa and papa of Derek Vrbos, Brianne Young, Gregory Vrbos, Liem Young, Matthew Ruiz, Lauren Vrbos, Natalia Ruiz, Joshua Mendonca, and Maya Ruiz. Jerry is survived by his siblings Elsa Thuss, Dianne Thuss, Ted (Trudy) Thuss, Peter Thuss, Bill (Frances) Thuss, Cathy Appeldoorn, John (Annie) Thuss, Martin (Jo) Thuss, Mary (Rick) Ysebert, Joe (Betty) Thuss, and Bernie (Craig) Mitchell. Jerry is predeceased by his parents Peter and Gertrude Thuss, his brother Henry Thuss, brother-in-law Cor Appeldoorn, and his sister-in-law Tina Thuss. Jerry is also survived by his sister-in-law Freda (Layton) MacDonald and his brothers-in-law Tom (Delma) Gallant and John (Chris) Gallant. Also predeceased by his sisters-in-law Carmen Gallant and Grace Beckett, and predeceased by the mother of his daughters, Shirley (Case) Gregory. Jerry will be sadly missed and always remembered by his many extended family and his many friends.
Jerry was a faithful and devoted fan of the Toronto Maple Leaf’s for many years, Perhaps now with his influence ,they will finally win the Stanley cup!
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, November 22, 2022 from 2:00-4:00p.m. and 7:00p.m.-9:00p.m. at DENNING’S OF STRATHROY. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Wednesday, November 23, 2022 at 11:00a.m. at All Saints Roman Catholic Church. As expressions of sympathy, the family would love if you would complete an act of kindness, donate to your local foodbank.
