Obituary of Paul Tremblay
TREMBLAY, Paul
June 15, 1947 – March 24, 2022
A gentleman left suddenly but peacefully, his beautiful spirit too early taking flight. Paul will be lovingly remembered by his wife Sharron (nee Costello), his daughter Sarah Hamza, her husband Tom, and their daughter Grace.
Paul was born in London, England and immigrated to Canada in his teens. He enjoyed a career with Canada Post and has been happily retired for more than two decades
Predeceased by his father Simeon, mother Ellen (nee Power) and granddaughter Sophie, Paul leaves behind his much-loved siblings Gerard (Sandra) and Bernadette (David), good friends and in-laws Ken (Kristine), and Lynn (Martin), as well as his cherished nieces, nephews, and their families.
Paul was full of life, strong opinions, and humour right up until his final moments. He was first and foremost about his family which was fortunate because he was such an important part of his big, loving brood. His passions occupied his days, including Scotch, reading books (hundreds and hundreds), his vintage cars, woodworking, trains, and a secret crush on Sophia Loren. He had a soft spot for animals throughout his life, and his dogs were fed better than most people. But above all else, sunsets on his back porch with Sharron, family, friends and a glass of something cold delighted him most.
Those he leaves behind will cherish his mischievous grin and curmudgeonly ways. Outspoken at times, he wasn’t shy to voice his opinions. His strong character was warm hearted, and he supported his causes passionately and deeply. Above all he was full of youthful spirit that belied his inner curiosity and broad-ranging pursuit of life.
In memory of Paul, donations to the Humane Society in your area would be appreciated. A celebration of Life will be held in Strathroy this June, with details soon to follow. Online donations and condolences may be left at www.strathroyfuneralhome.com.
