My condolences to the family. Bernie was one of the good ones
A great friend of long duration.
We pretty much grew up together as adolescents and young adults in Kingston Jamaica, and actually worked on a few motion pictures together in the 60's.
One of my favorite stories (legends perhaps?) about Bernie, was that he decided, after much soul searching to emigrate to Canada.
So, he went to his boss (might have been Adrian Robinson or someone at the time) at the JTB to resign.
His boss reportedly said: "Oh, Bernie, I wanted to talk to you. How would you like to be posted to Toronto?"
Bernie went: "Uhm.... ok.... sure, why not."
Apochryphal?
Who remembers.
Buit it's a great story.
Love ya Bernie... always will.

Bernie was my first contact with the Jamaica Tourist Board in Toronto in 1989. I was a brand new buyer for Sunquest Vacations. Bernie was welcoming and kind in an infectious way. He soon became a confidant and friend. He touched my life as I am sure he did many others. May he rest in peace. Christopher Stubbs

Such happy memories of growing up with Bernie. Even when we lost touch over the years, he was still a very important part of my life. Happily we got back in touch in recent years and I was able to spend some precious time with him when I visited 3 years ago.
Bernie, my dear friend, may you rest in peace
Forever, Mike L

I and my wife both feel fortunate for the memories we have of of our friendship with Bernie. HIS DEVOTION to our Saviour
JESUS and for the Word of Holy Scripture was so inspiring.
HIS NLOVE FOR HIS FAMILY was a clear indication of a good quality and an attitude of loyalty and sincere regard for his
wife. He also showed care and concern for helping a neighbour whenever he saw a need.
He & I spent a lot of time exchanging the joyous memories we both shared of life in Jamaica.
We did a lot of Biblical reading and he gave me a glimpse of some of his research into God's message in Scripture for the
way for Salvation. He had constantly declared words of Love and Life to be found in being a follower of Jesus.
Bernie will be sorely missed by us & all in his family....
Now we pray for all in his family for peace of spirit and God's comfort as they
grieve their loss of their father and husband. Those left will need all possible help to cope.

We will sadly miss Bernie’s warm and infectious smile. He always found a way to slide in a few jokes to create laughter. We will miss his teasing and lively conversations while enjoying a Jamaican patty or two. Bernie, we will miss you so much. Our memories of you will live our hearts. Our condolences to Rosie and family. Love Rick and Mina.
