It is with very heavy hearts that the family of Ilda Maria Meirinho (nee DaCosta) announces her passing at Strathroy Middlesex General Hospital on March 13^th, 2021 at the age of 66. Ilda was the beloved wife of Mario Meirinho; loving mother of Nelson (Deirdre) Meirinho and Danny (Sabina) Meirinho; and adoring Avó to her 3 grandchildren Brandon, Cereus, and Ella.

She is survived by her sisters Maria (Jose Carlos) DaSilveira; Isabel (Helder) Matos; and brothers Jose Lino (Maria Lina) DaCosta; Eduino (Rita) DaCosta, and Tony (Paula) DaCosta. She will also be missed by several nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.

Ilda was born in Horta, Faial Acores. She moved to Canada with her husband Mario in 1972. In spite of being diagnosed with Farh’s Syndrome earlier in her life, Ilda enjoyed a happy and full life. She will be remembered for her kind and gentle nature. Ilda was very much a loving wife, mother, grandmother, daughter, sister, aunt, godmother and friend.

Visitation will be held on Monday, March 15^th, 2021 at DENNING’S OF STRATHROY.
