I met Bob when I worked at the Poulin Training centre by the old arena several years ago and whenever I saw him after that he always said hi. I don't think he ever forgot a face. Such a nice man. And reading his Obituary was like a history lesson as I did not realize that the Dairy Case chain was started by his family. I remember going to the Dairy Case in Leamington growing up and have been to many others over the years too. What a legacy he has left!! RIP Bob and I'm sure there will be quite a reunion of horsepeople like Evelyn Sayers, Jean Poulin and so many others from the area.

Bob and I were best of friends throughout our school years in Strathroy. The dairy farm was my second home,....... washing milk bottles, riding in the horse drawn milk wagon Saturday mornings, showing heifers at the fair, learning to drive a truck and ride horses, filling the barn with hay were just some of the things we did together at the farm. Sleep overs on the front porch and tenting in the back pastures were frequent and always fun.
We were part of a group that was very close.... parties and dances at the old community centre on front street and competing on the baseball field and golf course. Many wonderful memories.
We lost touch in 1954 when I moved to London. My fault which I frequently regretted.
My condolences to all the family. He will be greatly missed by many.
Rest In Peace Bob..... sincerely...... Keith

Bob Hunter was a good ball player. His Midget aged baseball team won a Provincial Championship by beating Tillsonburg. Our Juvenile Team played Port Hope in the Ontario final game in Campbellville. The lead-off batter hit a single and went to second on an error. Bob doubled him home with the only extra base hit of the game that ended 1 to 0 for the Royals.
Bob was also a good high school athlete in basketball and track and field. He was part of Strathroy's first high school football team that we put together in 1955. Bob Pearson
