Fred and I had many friendly competitions at tractor pulls the last few years, both of us pulling in the same class. Fred always liked a good pulloff - he got to make another pass down the track. I shared many laughs with Fred and the Gilliard family after the pulls, at the shop, and at many steam thresher shows and other tractor events. Fred will be missed. My condolences to Hilda and the Bryant family.

Fred was a cherished companion and partner to our Mother (Hilda Hunter). Through many ups and downs with health and growing older challenges, the two of you stood together. Our families welcomed Fred into our homes and lives for some 20 years, marking the important milestones of each year together (Birthdays, Christmas, Weddings, Tractor Pulls, Thanksgivings, Sporting Events). Seems we could always share an update and a laugh. That is how we will remember you as we stood alongside you both! Life takes many twists and turns and these last six months were not at all what any of us would have wished for. We hope you do rest easier knowing that Mom is aware of your feelings and she misses you already. We will continue to be there for her as you would have wished for! We hope that now, the sun is shining, the day is clear, warm and dry, the tractors are tuned up and ready for the pull. Your lungs are full and you feel the strength of a young man again.
Our sincerest condolences to Heather & Tom, Bonnie & Carl and your families. Rest in peace Fred!
Don & Mary & Zachary Hunter!

We are so sorry to hear of the passing of Fred. We will miss him at our Marriott family events. Every time we would see him I would always say to him...how are you doing Fred and he would say he was doing good and my response would always be, you wouldn't tell me anything different would you. He would smile. He never ever complained even when he wasn't feeling well. He was a very kind man.
We are so sorry for your loss Bryant family. Our hearts are with you all during this difficult time.

We are so sorry to hear the sad news about Fred. We have known Fred for several years mainly because of Minneapolis Moline tractors and tractor pulling. We always enjoyed talking and visiting with Fred at tractor pulls, tractor rides, steam thresher meetings and shows. We will miss seeing Fred at all these events and gatherings.

Fondly remembering the kind man we knew Fred to be, and will certainly miss his distinct chuckle and sly smile. We were lucky to have Fred as part of our family for many years, and were always thankful for his interest in our updates. We hadn’t seen Fred in a couple of months, but were so happy to have some driveway visits for a few minutes this past summer. Thinking of his family and Aunt Hilda during this difficult time, and sending wishes of happy memories to all.

Fred spent a lot of time with us, the past 5 years the most. We called him old Fred and the young grand children called him old Fred as well. We worked on lots of old tractors, for days, it seemed like. He loved minneapolis moline the best . The louder they were, the more he liked them .Tractor pulling and tires was what he liked to talk about before the next pull. Laughs at dinner time with Fred will be missed and him coming to the shop to give us a hand. Rest in peace, you suffered long enough. Gilliard Family's and good friend...... Garry.

Fred was a very special person around the Gilliard Farm, until recently stopped by daily to help and give us his fatherly advise. He always new when we were busy he would shorten his visits then, he was never in the way, just like a member of the family here. Coffee time here won't be the same here anymore. We will miss you Fred and we promise to keep those old tractors shiny and running just like you loved. Your friend Randy and family

To Heather and Family,
I am so sorry to hear of the loss of Fred. Fred was the closest thing I had to a Grandfather figure for most of my life. He was a simple man and always had a positive attitude towards almost everything in life. Whenever he was faced with adversity, health challenges, or even bad weather, he would crack a joke or simply say “that’s the way it goes”. He never dwelled on things for long.
Some favourite memories I have of Fred was one year at Christmas, when online shopping first became popular we bought Fred many MM tractor items and he lit up! He had no idea you could buy things like this. He was always so hard to buy for, but enjoyed extra shop towels just as much as anything else. He never needed much, he was happy just to be apart of the activities. Once during a Pictionary game with our family, Fred drew a ‘dingo’ which was shockingly quite accurate. Our family was able to guess this obscure animal. Fred shared with us he enjoyed art when he was younger and I’m sure he had many talents and interests people never knew about! He never talked much about himself but always made sure to ask us about updates in our life.
My last memory of Fred was in the summer of 2020, when we visited him in Arkona. We brought him pizza and even though we had our rambunctious 4 month old puppy with us, he was just excited to have some people around to talk with and have a slice of pizza with.
Fred will be missed. I am thinking of all of you at this difficult time.
