Obituary of Jake Arends

Peacefully on Monday June 1, 2009, Jacob Arends went to be with his Lord, surrounded by his family, in his 85th year. Beloved husband of Alice (Bos) for 59 years. Loving father of Minnie and Pete Boersma of Mount Brydges, Jerry and Marg of Strathroy, John and Cris of London, Jake and Janie of Aylmer, Charlie and Henny of Hagersville, Ron and Mary of St. Thomas and Cindy and Dave Mann of Listowel. Cherished grandpa of 28 and great-grandpa of 25. Dear brother of Ralph (Mary), Janet Hovius, Frances (Abe) VanderVeen. Predeceased by his brother-in-law Bob Hovius. Friends will be received at Westmount Christian Reformed Church, 405 Drury Lane, Strathroy, on Thursday from 2-4 & 7-9 p.m, where the funeral service will be held on Friday, June 5, 2009 at 11 a.m. with Pastor Anthonie Van Den Ende officiating. Interment to follow in Strathroy Cemetery. In memory of Jake, donations may be made the Strathroy Community Christian School or the Canadian Cancer Society.
