I went to high school with Corey, I met him in grade 9 at first he was shy but as I grew to know him he was one of kindest hearted people I knew. We had classes together we didn't do much work as we just would talk and talk instead, he always knew how to make me laugh and smile. We would spend time together in the cafeteria just laughing around. Corey genuinely cared for the people around him, he always kept a smile on his face and made everyone around him always smile and laugh. My life would be so different without Corey he made so many days that were bad into good days. I remember speaking to him last year around this same time and he explained to me on how he was so excited to give his nieces and nephews Christmas gifts and how they made him so happy, the joy when he would take to me about them was unbelievable. He will forever be the most amazing person I know. I am extremely sorry for your loss.

Andre, with tears in my eyes I am writing this to let you know I am so so sorry you and your family have lost Corey. The past weeks I got to know Cory a little, he got to know his cousins more and had fun doing it. I am so saddened that this bright and promising young man has lost his struggle. I share your sorrow and wish you the strength to cope. I see you as a proud and caring parent who has done, and is doing, the best he can do for his Family. Sometimes your best isn’t enough for some. Please accept my most heartfelt sorry for your loss. I wish only the best for you and your Family with the strength to heal.

Tracey, you are in our thoughts. We are sending our condolences to you and everyone who loves Corey. We have many fond memories of Corey spending time with our son Matthew over the elementary years. Corey will be missed. I have included a photo of Corey at Matthew’s 14th birthday (2015) with some of the Sacred Heart gang. xox

My heartfelt condolences to all of Corey’s family and friends.
Corey recently spent some time in Montreal with Joey, my girls and I.
We needed help with major renovations and he accepted the challenge with a welcomed eagerness for the chance to be on his own path of decisions. He was coming to Montreal to be not just Cameron’s little brother or André’s son. He was coming to be Corey.
We had the chance to get to know him. He was kind. He was helpful. He was respectful. He was so smart. He was funny. He was a great worker looking to figure out what his next path towards the future would be. He had plans, he spoke of them with us and his family.
We feel blessed to have spent this time with him
He enriched our days and let us into his world just a little bit for a too short of time.
We have all lost something huge.
Wish we had more time to see him grow into the handsome soul that he was.
Rest In Peace little nephew.
Hope I never forget your awesome smile xx

This past Summer Christine and Joey said that André, Tracy and the boys were coming through to visit. We had n't met "The Boys" " The nephews, Cameron and Corey"
It was hot and we invited them over along with their cousins from Montreal to cool down in our swimming pool. All they had to do was walk across their field , down the bank , over our stream and up to our garden with the cool pool.
There was much splashing and yelps and I recall that Cameron may have dropped his phone in the pool. Maggi and I continued on our tasks as the kids cavorted in the blue pool I was aware of a very powerful and quiet presence sitting on an Adirondack chair in the shade of our stoop.
It was Corey! He didn't want to splash or drink he just wanted to be there.
More recently Corey came back to work with Joey and Christine and be with his Montreal cousins.
We were fortunate to have Corey over at our home for supper before he headed to Montreal and the cousins.
He was a quiet delight , he wore a great shirt based on graphic work by Keith Haring and he sat at head of table and dominated his post with tranquile poise and a peaceful persona.
Once he headed off to Montreal we peppered Joey and Christine with questions: How is Corey ? How is he enjoying the cousins ? What do they do?
For someone whom we had only met twice in our life he held a silent and captivating charm .
Still waters run deep and I believe that Corey had a profundity of sensitivity that was of another World.
There was an angelic quality about him that seemed at odds with the mish mash of our current reality and that was so refreshing to experience.
An Old Soul in a youthful costume, an innocence with some sort of worldy wisdom.
Sometimes things don't fit and no one ought to feel blame for Corey's passing. He was loved and his family and friends supported him through thick and thin.
Maggi and I feel without a doubt that that angelic boy has found a happy and heavenly haven far from the torments and demons that proliferate all around us.
Every one has a story and for someone we only met briefly for twice in our life ...Corey has made an indelible impact .
No Blame , no shame and his life was not in vain.

My sincerest condolences to Corey’s family. Corey was by far the most caring person I’ve ever met, whenever I found myself needing help he was the first one to offer it, he checked in on me frequently to make sure I was on my feet, and most of all he could always manage to make me laugh even on my worst days. Rest In Peace.

I've been spending the last few days thinking about life and loss, the past, present and future...which prompted me to revisit some of my favorite memories from the past couple of years. It can't be a coincidence that Corey was present in those most cherished moments I've lived these past couple of years. I particularly enjoy this family group shot. The sun is in our eyes and the wind in our hair, but I'm so grateful for our beautiful family.
My deepest condolences to the entire family, I can't even comprehend the loss you are all experiencing at the moment. I hope we can all find comfort in each other. I know that we have each other to help us stay afloat during this storm. I love you all.
