I would like to express my condolences to the family and friends of Ron Aiken. I am sorry to hear of his sudden death which I only learned of recently. I have not spoken with Ron in many years but still remember him fondly. I worked for Ron at Wickham’s TV in the mid 70’s, my first ‘real’ job after graduating from university. Suffice to say, his early mentorship left a valuable imprint on me. Ron was not only an excellent businessman and sportsman (as I learned through our weekly basketball games in Komoka), but also a thoughtful and considerate person.

Shocked to hear of the passing of Ron, or Ronnie as I knew him. He was my closest friend all through Greyabbey Primary School and we were both surprised to find, years later, that we both owned TV and Audio shops on opposite sides of the Atlantic. He and Sheren called with us on their last trip to Northern Ireland and it’s so sad to realise that this was our last meeting. Funny, helpful, and a great person who made my early years so enjoyable. Condolences to all the family. Barbara Dempsey, nee Lowe

To the Aiken Family,
So sorry to hear that Ron passed. I played rugby with Ron many years ago for the Oshawa Vikings RFC. He was a fine gentleman and an exceptional rugby player. I’m sure that he will be missed by many.
With sincere condolences,
Georgina and Michael Nelson.

I offer all Ron's Family members my condolences. I have not spoken with Ron for many years - my shame. We go back to Wickham's Television in 1970's and working together in Sarnia after that. I also had the pleasure of sitting on Ron's living room floor while he devised the plan to open Strathroy Audio Video.
He was a charming and sincere man who knew how to enjoy himself. It is my honour to have known and worked with him.

Absolutely enjoyed being greeted by Ron out front of the store and we would chat a bit, and totally loved chilling with him during pool league nights at the Derby until of course we had to battle it out on the table. He will be missed.

I came to know Ron as we planned our famous Strathroy Arena Sales every August back in the late 80's. We'd split the arena in half and fill it with special deals from my furniture and bedding suppliers and his TV and audio suppliers. We had some great times back then - selling a lot of product and making a lot of new friends. An astute business man - his company survived and grew through tough times and a recession while mine succumbed. Someone once said, "Ideas are nothing. Execution is everything", and Ron had both great business ideas and excellent execution. To Ron's family and his many friends please accept my sincere condolences and may your memories of this great guy help to sustain you through the days ahead.

Sherron and family,
Our deepest condolences – may wonderful memories surround you.
Ron was my roommate his first year at Western. We got together with mutual friends several years ago and played golf and went out for dinner and reminisced.
On occasion, when I was in the area, I would drop in at the store for a visit, but unfortunately, we had not seen each other in recent years.
Our thoughts are with you and the family.
Rick & Linda Dennis,
Markham

Just a few words to express how sad we were to hear Ronnie had passed away. He was the best, super company to be with, so easy going just a great fun guy. We are all very lucky to have known him and I know the times that we shared with you
in Northern Ireland created many good memories. It was always very entertaining when Ronnie and my mum (Aunt Violet) got together there was always great banter between the two of them. Ronnie will always remain in our memories and I am very thankful to have had a true gent as my cousin. Thinking of you all.

We send our sincere condolences to you and all the family. Ronnie was a much loved nephew and cousin and was very much a favorite of his late Aunt Violet. We were very lucky to be able to spend many special times with Ronnie and Sherron when they visited Northern Ireland. It was always great fun especially when Ronnie got the frying pan out and produced a magical Ulster Fry. One of the many memories we will keep of a great man. Uncle Billy and cousin Lorraine.

Sherron, my sincere condolences to you and the family. Ron was a true gentleman. I am so glad I was able to spend time with you and Ron in North Ireland. He was a welcoming host and tour guide. I enjoyed travelling the countryside, amazing Ulster fries and the opportunity to meet his family there.
RIP my friend- I will miss you

Sad news, it’s terrible to think that we won’t see Ron again here in Northern Ireland. At times like this it’s important to focus on happy memories of fun times. A few immediately spring to mind; a fabulous Indian feast in Belfast, Ron scaring the living daylights out of Heather in the Ballygally Castle hotel and the night Ron joined the Green and White army at Windsor Park to cheer on the boys in green. He was always great fun and it was always great news to hear that he and Sherron had crossed the pond. My sincere condolences to Sherron and family.

I knew Ron for many years. He was a real gentle man who never had a negative thought of anyone. He was a consummate pool player who perfected the game over the years. We had many a good match together and against each other. My sincerest condolences go out to his family and all of his closest friends.
