This is note of admiration for Howard from an old codger that he influenced many, many years ago. When I came out of high school in 1958, I went to work as a junior draftsman at GSW, where I met Howard. The second picture in, shows the GSW Engineering team. I'm the kid at the back on the right hand side. I only worked there for a few years, but the influence of Howard and his colleagues created values in my life that I have never forgotten and helped me to be successful in my working career.
A side issue i also remember, Howard and his partner, Harvey Lambert, who also played in Jonny Downs band, introduced me to the London Lords football and my first taste of their secret libation that solved my curiosity on why people sit in the bleachers feeling their buns off to watch a bunch of grown men fight over a ball.(Harvey is also in that picture, right below me, only the top of his face showing above the girls hair). Howard watched over the new kid in the block and made sure I didn't make the same mistake twice. He was something special, to me!

Larry, I remember the night around 1959 when you and dad traded cars. You needed his 55 Pontiac station wagon to transport your sailboat motor to Port Stanley and left dad your light green 57 mercury hardtop with no hubcaps on it, to allow dad to bomb around the streets of London with family in tow! Thanks! - Phil Parsons

Dear Phil and the entire Parsons family...what a beautiful picture tribute you folks have put together to honour Howard, a true gentleman and inspiration to all, in particular, his family. Please accept my sincere condolences on his passing. His legacy lives on. His pride of family is so evident in the pictorial salute. What a talented man, what a talented family, what a loss. God bless you all.

Parsons Family
So sorry to hear about the passing of your dad.
As a young girl growing up, the Parsons family was very much a big part of the Legg family. You especially enjoyed my mom's chocolate chip cookies!
Your dad must have been so proud that you inherited his love of music and shared your talents with others as he had done.
Ila and Howard were truly loving and caring parents.
Our thoughts are with you at this difficult time.
Judy(Legg) and Dave Wherry

We remember Howard as a true gentleman..a great sense of humour, that twinkle in his eye, a fabulous musician, a loving husband, father and grandfather. He was a solid member of Christ Anglican Church in Listowel until the day it closed- generous and giving of his time and talents- and a master of handing out sausages at the pancake supper! Bone crunching hugs and a big smile was always there for me at Christ Church. He will be missed. Safe in the arms of Jesus and reunited with his true love and soulmate.
