Obituary of Hilda VandenDool

VandenDool, Hilda Hilda VandenDool (nee Krol) on July 24, 2020, in her 93rd year, daughter of Otto Krol and Grace Knift, ascended peacefully to join her loving husband Jan and her eldest and youngest sons, Tony and Robert. A wonderful, devoted wife and dearest companion throughout life’s many journeys to the late Jan VandenDool A loving mother to the late Tony, Orval (Brigitte), Edward, Grace Dekker (James), and the late Robert (Marilena). A dear sister to the late Clarence (Irma), Alex (Shirley), Martha VanderWerf (the late Harry), and Alice Deelstra (the late Ralph) Cherished by her many grandchildren: Corinne Vanden Hoven (Gerry), Ian VandenDool (Amanda), Lisa Lloyd (Kelly), Mark VandenDool, Janis Khadem (Niaz), Jonathan VandenDool (Sonya), Ryan Dekker (Danielle), Jordan VandenDool (Hanne), Emmy VandenDool (Connor). Awesome great grandmother to: Tristan, Sydney, Griffin & Archer Vanden Hoven, Cody & Kate Lloyd, Owen & Liam Khadem, and Alcyone VandenDool Hilda lived a life of faith expressed through unfettered devotion to her family; A lover and maker of beauty and amazing apple pie, with an intense work ethic, a mischievous sense of humour, moved by the written word in poetry and scripture, showing generosity and hospitality to all, and immense love to her children and many beautiful grandchildren and great grandchildren. We express our gratitude for the wonderful care provided by Dr. Buma, the Victorian Order of Nurses and amazing Personal Support Workers of London-Middlesex, her many friends at Trillium Village, and in particular, Hilda’s angel and protector during her final months here on earth, Helena Baker. A private family funeral service will take place at East Christian Reformed Church in Strathroy, Ontario, under the guidance of Rev. Derek Bouma.
