Obituary of Sietske Dyer

Dyer, Susan (Sietske) Susan (Sietske) Dyer (nee De Vlugt) passed away peacefully at University Hospital on May 1st in her 89th year. Susan has gone to be at her husband’s John (Jack) side once again (2016) whom she shared 64 years of marriage while farming in Lobo Township. Mom will be greatly missed by her children Roger (Tracy), Jo-Anne (Art), Barb (Jim), John (Sandy), and Ron (Kelly) as well as her 17 grandchildren and 23 great grandchildren a family that she so cherished. Susan was predeceased by one precious ganddaughter Ashley (2017) her little angel. Susan was predeceased by her siblings Bep, Sjouke, George and Hanneke and has left fond memories for her sister Tet Jackson and brothers Paul, Bob and Pete De Vlugt to share together. She loved you all more than words can say. Her love of flowers, birds and wildlife gave her much joy in her recent years. The many phone calls and visits from her family held a big piece of her heart. Her door was always open, and the coffee was always on, yes including the famous Windmill Cookies a favourite of her many grandchildren. Susan cherished her church family at London Gospel Temple, and many will miss her Sunday morning hugs. She loved you all – Elizabeth your music was a strength to Mom for the last few years as she journeyed alone. Special thanks to the nurses and doctors of Strathroy Middlesex General Hospital and University Hospital who gave Mom excellent care in the past weeks as we all struggled to watch her health deteriorate so quickly. Dr. Youseff, Dr. Gomes and Heidi Baker all very special people to all of us. Thank you! Mom is now free of pain and suffering and will live on in our hearts forever. She has left a legacy. A private family visitation and service will take place. In lieu of flowers donations to the Heart and Stroke Foundation would be appreciated by the family. Online condolences and donations can be made at www.strathroyfuneralhome.com. Arrangements entrusted to DENNING’S OF STRATHROY.
