I’ll start with a favourite quote…
“I rather believe that time is a constant companion who goes with us on the journey and reminds us to cherish every moment, because it will never come again. What we leave behind is not as important as how we've lived.”
Yvonne lived for others. Her family, her friends, and even kind strangers. Whoever, wherever: without fail, she was always there. If you’ve read her obituary, you have only the smallest glimpse of her selflessness and her love for helping those in need. It seems to me that Yvonne’s inherent inclination to care is what it means to cherish every moment, good and bad. The hole she has left is irrecoverable. And yet, I know that the guidance, wisdom, and unconditional love that Yvonne modeled will help myself and all who knew her to move forward on our own journeys.
I’ll end with another of my favourite quotes…
“In the end, it’s not how many things we have when we die, it’s how many people have been touched by us.”
This could very well be Yvonne’s mantra; she has touched countless people.

I remember fondly the kindness and friendship that both Bruce and Yvonne had with my mother. I certainly got to know Yvonne better once elected to Council and she being so involved with the hospital she was always able to get her point across with tact.
