Obituary of Ludwig Borszcz

Borszcz, Ludwig “Louie” It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Louie Borszcz at the age of 85 from Strathroy, Ontario. Louie is survived by his devoted wife Katharine of 60 years, three children: Jacqueline (Nick), Erika (James), and Frank (Kate); five grandchildren: Nicole, Aidan, Victoria, Taylor, and Brody. Missed by sister-in-laws Eleanor, Anne and Rita and many nieces and nephews. Louie is remembered as a very hardworking man who came to Canada from Berlin Germany at the age of 20. Arriving in London with $54 in his pocket that he borrowed from his father to start a new life, he worked busing tables at the bus station until he was able to apply with woodworking skills in Canada. Louie decided to purchase farmland after being introduced to farming by his in-laws and he cleared them making them into some of the most productive farms in the Caradoc area. He loved his farming community and was also eager to share his expertise with anyone who would listen. Louie was a very proud father of his 3 successful children. Louie adored his 5 grandchildren and enjoyed hearing about their very different lives. Nicole’s dance, Victoria’s horse riding, Aidan’s bands, and Taylor’s figure skating. Louie adored his #1 hockey goalie Brody and his favorite Chiefs team. Our family would like to thank everyone at the Country Terrace Nursing home for their extraordinary care of Louie over the last year. He became very fond of you all and we are so grateful for all your support to our family. A Celebration of Louie’s life will take place at date in the near future.
