Obituary of Janet Smith

Peacefully in the care of her co-workers at LHSC (University Campus) on Wednesday, December 2, 2009. Janet Elizabeth Smith of Ailsa Craig in her 57th year. Beloved wife of Craig Smith. Loving mother of Rachel, Laura and Carolyn. Cherished daughter of Beatrice and the late Ralph Rock. Dear sister of John (Francine), Ken (Rita), Michael (Linda), Mary James and Tish Haberer (Joe) and sister-in-law of David (Cynthia), Art (June) and Peter (Pauline) Smith. Predeceased by her sister Kathy Loucks (Alex). In her early life Janet's sense of adventure allowed her to travel all over Canada and the south. After she married Craig she settled comfortably in Ailsa Craig where she showed uncommon dedication to her family, nursing profession and her friends. Her love of nature, music, her cats and her passion for antiques further enriched her all too short life. Friends will be received at the T. Stephenson & Son Funeral Home, Ailsa Craig on Friday, December 4 from 2-4 and 7-9 PM. A funeral service will be held at the Ailsa Craig Community Centre, 155 Annie Ada Shipley, Ailsa Craig on Saturday, December 5 at 11 AM with Reverend Father Tom Donohue officiating. Interment to follow in Nairn Cemetery. Donations to the ALS Society of Ontario would be appreciated.
