Obituary of John Crawford

Suddenly, at Southlake Hospital, Newmarket on Monday, December 20, 2010. John Campbell Crawford of London, and lately Schomberg, Ontario in his 86th year. Beloved husband of Signe Maria Crawford (Nelson), dear father of Douglas (Dorota) and grandfather of Alexander. Also survived by his brothers Keith (Evelyn) and Glen (Mary) and several nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his brother George (Verna). John volunteered for the Canadian Air Force in 1943. Served 23 years across Canada and overseas as a telecommunications officer and retired as Flight Lieutenant in 1966. He then worked another 23 years for Canada as a Civil Servant in London, Ontario. "He was a good, generous, and learned man, loved by his family and dear friends; respected and liked by all who knew him." Visitation will be held at Denning Bros. Funeral Home, 32 Metcalfe St. W., Strathroy on Monday, December 27 from 3-6 PM where a funeral service will be held on Tuesday, December 28 at 11AM with Pastor Archie Murray officiating. Interment in Ivan Cemetery at a later date. In lieu of flowers donations to the Children's Wish Foundation would be appreciated.
