Obituary of Robert Dodge

Peacefully at Strathroy Middlesex General Hospital, on March 9, 2011, Robert Kenneth Dodge, at the age of 68. Robert was the beloved son of the late Lorne and Mary Dodge, dear stepson, companion and help-mate of the late Ilene Dodge, devoted brother of Marie (Lloyd Shea) and stepbrother of Barbara (Denniss Westgate) and Bill (Ruth); caring uncle of Melanie (Pete VanKessel), Dan Shea (Gabriela), Shannon (Jon Southen), Jeremy, Jennifer and Joshua Westgate and Tamara (James McGaffey); great uncle to Tylor VanKessel (Robyn), Diamond (Derek Terpstra), Colin and Kelsey VanKessel and Patrick and Jack Medd. Robert was one of the original members of the Kerwood Volunteer Fire Department where he continued to faithfully serve his community since its inception in 1965. He was also an active member of the Ontario Plowmen's Association, Watford Gun Club, Warwick Fox Club and Ducks Unlimited. Robert was passionate about his involvement with these organizations and dedicated to his family and friends. He will be sorely missed by all. Family will receive friends at Denning Bros. Funeral Home, 32 Metcalfe St, Strathroy for visitation on Friday March11, 2-4 and 7-9 where a celebration of life, officiated by Thelma Perry, will take place on Saturday March 12 at 1:30. Interment will follow at Strathroy Cemetery and a reception at Kerwood Bethesda United Church. Donations to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Ontario, the Canadian Diabetes Association or a charity of your choice would be gratefully appreciated.
