Richard Glanville

Obituary of Richard Glanville

It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Richard “Rick” Glanville, who left us peacefully at home in Parkhill, Ontario, on December 28, 2025, at the age of 77.

Rick will be lovingly remembered by his devoted wife of 57 years, Mary Ellen (née Munro) Glanville. He was a proud and caring father to Jody (Glanville) Williams (predeceased), Rhonda Glanville (Brent), and Dwight Glanville (Paula). His grandchildren: Robyn Cole (Johnny), Nadine Rodgers (Derry), Stephanie Rodgers, Julian Myers, Bradley Rodgers (Emma), Evan Williams, Ethan Williams (predeceased), and Sam Rodgers.

Brother of Elaine England (Bob), Kate Arbo (Andy), Lorna Wernham, Brenda Farr (Carl), Barbara Issac (Rob), Barb Durell (Mike), and Ed Preszcator (Judy).

Predeceased by his parents, Frank and Shirley Glanville; sister Mae Lacasse (David); and brothers Murray Glanville and David Glanville (Rose).

He will also be missed by many nieces, nephews, and lifelong friends.

His passing leaves a void that can never be filled, but his love, lessons, and memories will live on in all of us.

A true woodsman at heart, Rick was happiest when the air was crisp and the fish were biting. He was a man of simple pleasures and deep passions. He never met a pun he didn’t like or a prank he wouldn’t pull. He lived his life with a twinkle in his eye and a repertoire of stories. He taught us how to bait a hook, how to sit still in the woods, and how to appreciate the quiet. In his later years, his hunting became much smaller in scale; he spent hours watching hummingbirds, fascinated by their speed. We take comfort in knowing he is now exploring the greatest hunting grounds of all.

Cremation has taken place. A celebration of Rick’s life will be held at a later date, where family and friends can gather to share stories and honor his memory.
