Obituary of Jayne Elizabeth Waters

Waters, Jayne Elizabeth (nee Kenny)

With deep sadness, the family of Jayne Waters announces her passing on December 20 peacefully at home surrounded by family. She was the beloved wife of Rob for 55 years and a devoted mother to Donald (Leila) Waters, Andrew (Danielle) Waters, Mark (Jennifer) Waters and Jennifer (Alan) Cherneski. She was a cherished grandmother to Aliyah, Connor, Noah, Justine, John, Mathew, Juliette, Alice, Simon, Leo, Owen, Nadine and AndrĂ© who were the light of her life.

Jayne was predeceased by her parents, Allan and Joan, and her parents-in-law, Donald and Clover. She will be lovingly remembered by her siblings Bob (Denise) Kenny, Pam (Phil) Bezaire, Barry (Debby) Kenny and sister-in-law to Bill (Late Karen) Waters, Mac (Shirl) Waters, Dave (Liz) Waters and Donna (Wilson Brock) Waterman as well as many nieces and nephews and relatives, whom she loved dearly.

Born in Windsor, she began her nursing career in 1969 forming lifelong friendships along the way. After working in Toronto and London, she settled into her role as an emergency nurse at Strathroy Middlesex General Hospital.

Jayne developed a passion for travel in her youth, which she continued throughout her life. She was known for her vibrant, social spirit and enjoyed bridge, book club, progressive dinners, skiing, Motown, shopping with friends, cheering on her Leafs and Blue Jays and time with her family and friends. She was a very proud grandmother and could always be found at school functions and sporting and extracurricular events showing pride and love for her grandchildren.

Jayne was deeply grateful for the support she received during her illness. The family would like to thank the Verspeeten Family Cancer Centre and the team that helped her spend her final weeks at home.

Visitation will take place on Friday, December 26th, 2025 from 2-4 and 6-8 at Denning's of Strathroy. A funeral mass will be celebrated at All Saints Roman Catholic Church on Saturday, December 27th, 2025 at 11 am with interment at Strathroy Cemetery.

Memorial donations may be made to Strathroy Middlesex General Hospital or Strathroy Hospice.
