Obituary of Ted Benton

Ted passed away peacefully on Friday December 19, 2025, at the age of 79. Beloved husband of Luann and loving father of Danette (Linda), Tammy (Tim), Kelly (Todd), and Jamie (Tracy). Cherished Grandpa of Lauren (Jake), Mac (Nicole), Luke, Sam (Lauren), Jill (Connor), Bella and Reid. He was Great Grandpa to Camryn. Predeceased by his father Jack, mother Jean, and sister Jeanie. Cherished brother-in-law of Sharon, Mildred, Rick and Aunt Shirley. Ted will be lovingly remembered by his nephew Scott, his extended family, friends, and his hunting and fishing buddies.

Ted loved his family deeply and his biggest smiles came when he was surrounded by them. He was a talented and hardworking man, a Sheet Metal Mechanic, Harley mechanic and he could fix anything.

Ted was an avid outdoorsman who loved hunting and fishing. He loved to party with his hunting, fishing and biker buddies. Ted would never turn down a cold beer and a chance to share memories of his many jokes, songs and shenanigans. His favourite place on earth was the Ridge River in the far north.

Visitation will be held at Denning’s Funeral Home 32 Metcalfe Street in Strathroy on Saturday December 27th from 12:00pm to 2:00pm. A Funeral Service will be held in the Chapel commencing at 2:00pm. A Reception will follow in the Strathroy Caradoc Room. Feel free to wear your plaid and flannel attire in memory of Ted’s love of the outdoors.
