Obituary of Phyllis May Kerrigan
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Phyllis May Kerrigan, who passed away at Charlotte Eleanor Englehart Hospital in Petrolia on November 23, 2025, at the age of 97.
Beloved wife of the late John (Jack) Kerrigan.
Dear mother of Jim Kerrigan and Tom (Mary Ellen) Kerrigan.
Loving grandmother to eight grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Predeceased by her parents, Wesley and Myrtle (Law) Bruce; her brothers Harold, Ward, Byron, Andrew, Alfred, and Wallace; and her sisters Margaret and Edna Scherle.
Phyllis was born on October 5, 1928, on the family farm near Langbank, Saskatchewan. She enjoyed a successful career as a stenographer, working in Saskatchewan and Sarnia before retiring to raise a family on the farm just outside Camlachie. She was a gifted woodcarver and an avid card player, always ready for the next euchre tournament. Phyllis loved music and cherished traveling with her best friend and sister, Edna.
The family would like to thank the doctors and nurses at Charlotte Eleanor Englehart Hospital for the compassionate care given to Phyllis in her final days.
Cremation has taken place. A memorial service will be held at Denning’s Funeral Home in Forest, 9 James St. S., Forest, ON, on Monday, December 1, 2025, at 11 a.m., with a two-hour visitation prior to the service from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. A private family burial will take place after the service.
Sympathy may be expressed through donations to Charlotte Eleanor Englehart Hospital via the CEEH Foundation or to the Heart & Stroke Foundation of Canada.
