Obituary of Betty Jean Bolton
With sadness, the family of Betty Bolton (née Chapman) announces her passing.
Just days after her 93rd birthday, Betty passed away peacefully on November 8, 2025, at North Lambton Lodge in Forest. She was predeceased by her beloved husband of 66 years, Fred Bolton.
Born on November 4, 1932, Betty was the only child of Arthur and Dorothy (Froggatt) Chapman. She was raised in Middlesex County near Fernhill, where she lived until marrying Fred in 1955 and moving to Strathroy shortly thereafter. Together, Fred and Betty enjoyed spending winters in Florida and summers at their trailer in Ipperwash, where they cherished time with family and friends.
Betty had a career with RBC, and after retiring, she dedicated her time to volunteering at Strathroy Middlesex General Hospital. She will be remembered as a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother who always had a jigsaw puzzle and word scramble on the go. Betty loved spending Saturday mornings touring garage sales in search of treasures for her home and for her grandchildren. Family holidays were never complete without Betty’s famous “pink stuff” dessert, and her family looks forward to continuing this tradition for generations to come.
Betty is fondly remembered by her two children and their spouses: Ken (Jean) Bolton of Burlington, and Lynn (Dale) Anderson of Lambton Shores. She will be dearly missed by her four grandchildren: Kyle (Kassandra) Bolton, Kim (Matt) McGonigle, Alisa (Scott) Rake, and Jenn Anderson (Ben Smith); and by her six great-grandchildren: Rhett, Landon, Summer, Dayton, Blakely, and Mason.
The family would like to sincerely thank the staff at North Lambton Lodge in Forest for their continuous compassion and care.
A private family gathering at Strathroy Cemetery will take place at a later date.
