Obituary of Bob Miller

In Loving Memory of Robert Miller

It is with heavy hearts the family of Robert Miller announce his passing in Strathroy, ON, on September 16, 2025, at the age of 85. Born and raised in Watford, ON, he was the only son of the late William and late Gladys (Hyatt), and proud godson of the late Dorothy Doan, past Executive Director of Strathroy Middlesex General Hospital. He was predeceased by his beloved wife, Virginia (Ginny), in 2021.

From an early age, he was drawn to music, and that passion never left him. A lifelong drummer, he proudly marched in parades with the Waterloo Regional Police Band for close to three decades and was often tapping out beats at any given moment.

When he wasn’t behind a drum, Bob was found behind the wheel. He loved driving — not just as a way to get somewhere, but for the simple love of it. He was a volunteer driver with Strathroy VON until his final days, which brought him much joy and purpose.

Bob and his beloved wife, Ginny, shared a love for the open road, spending countless cherished moments traveling across North America in their RV. Together, they made lasting memories, exploring new places and enjoying the simple joy of the journey side by side. In the time since Ginny’s death, Bob found great comfort reminiscing on the many trips they shared.

Bob was an avid Toronto Blue Jays fan and business entrepreneur, but above all, he was a devoted family man. His unconditional love and generosity were felt in every interaction. He was a man who showed up — always. He was a cherished father to three daughters and proud “Boppa” to nine grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, the family invites you to honor Bob’s memory by listening to your favorite song, taking a peaceful drive, or sharing a kind moment with someone who needs it — just as he would have done.

Service details will be shared at a later date.
