Obituary of Barbara Jean Rose

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved mother, Barbara Jean Rose, who passed away on her own terms on Wednesday, August 20, 2025, in her 86th year. She was in the comfort of her own home, surrounded by her children and their spouses: Carolyn (Terry), Dave (Heather), and Jeff (Marion).

Barbara was the cherished wife of the late Alex Rose, and a devoted grandmother to Stacey, Chad (Brittany), Sabrina (Sanith), Vanessa (Sieuwerd), Nathan, Branson (Chelsea), and Sheldon. She was also a proud great-grandmother to Mazlyn, Kinlee, Bentley, Aston, Madison, Quinton, Wyatt, Shayne, Brady, and Maximus.

She is survived by her sister, Louise McQueen, and sisters-in-law Margaret Schram (Dale), Donna Stulp (Peter), and Hanora Crane (Jack). She was predeceased by Shirley May (Dave).

Survived by her nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, and great-great-nieces and nephews.

As per Barbara’s wishes, cremation has taken place.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, November 8th, from 1:00–4:00 p.m. at the Strathroy Lions Hall, 432 Albert Street.
A private family burial will take place on Sunday, November 9th, at 2:00 p.m.

In recognition of November as Pancreatic Cancer Awareness Month, those attending are invited to wear purple in support, if they wish.

Donations in memory of Barbara can be made to a charity of your choice.
