Obituary of Jim Copeland

It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Jim Copeland, who passed away peacefully at his home with family by his side on July 15, 2025, at the age of 72 in Strathroy, Ontario.

He was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother & friend.

Jim was born on January 28^th, 1953 and lived his whole life in Watford and Strathroy. He was predeceased by his parents Earl & Mary Copeland.

Survived by his loving wife of 51 years Mary Copeland (Rombouts) and his children and grandchildren. Samantha (Neil & Becca), Pamela (Shawn, Bradley, Jacob & Alex) and Victoria (Jon, Avery, Charlotte, Carter & Adeline). Predeceased by his granddaughter Riley.

He was the much loved brother of Marie (Bob), Ken (Cheryl), Don, Wayne, Ron (Therese), Terry (Joyce), Janice (Morris), Patty (Rob) and Brian (Vicki ^✝).

Jim was a cherished brother-in-law of Adrian (Jane), Pete (Elly), Case (Gertie), Annie^✝ (John^✝), Jackie (Martin), Joe (Cathy), Lizz (Bill^✝, Nick^✝), Frank (Betsy), Andy (Cindy), Lucy (Bill^✝, Rick), Cathy (Mike) and Margaret (Tony).

He will be fondly remembered by many nieces and nephews.

Jim’s life enjoyments included his children, grandchildren, carpentry and renovations. Throughout his life he was an active member of the Rotary Club of Watford and the Country Rollers Bowling League. He also enjoyed baseball, pool and creating with model trains. He spent many hours in his workshop tinkering and building.

A Celebration of Life (Visitation) will take place on Saturday, July 19^th, 2025 from 1:00-5:00pm at DENNING’S OF STRATHROY. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Verspeeten Family Cancer Centre in London Ontario. A special thank you to them for the care they gave Jim.
