Tina Veenstra (née Vellenga)


Surrounded by her family on July 3, 2025, Tina Veenstra of Strathroy, Ontario, met her heavenly Saviour face to face at the age of 93.

Beloved wife of 71 years to Robert (Bob) Veenstra. Loving mother of Mindert (Roxanne) Veenstra, Bonnie (Doug) Pierce, Diann (Steve) Deller, and Joyce (Guy Clifford) Veenstra. Cherished grandmother to Laura (Mike) Wolf, Meaghan (Ryan) Haegens, Ben (Kristen) Pierce, Danielle (Steve Binkley) Bloemendal, Sarah (Jason) Street, Elise (Dave) Medeiros, April Larsen, Chantal (Nick Maraj) Simms, and Julia (Brenden Lyons) Haneca. Proud GG Tina to 18 great-grandchildren.

Dear sister to Wilma (Gerald) Samplonius, Eva Vellenga, and Margaret (late Adrian) VanRooyen. Sister-in-law to Tetsie Vellenga, Marie Veenstra, and Lutske (late Fokke) v/d Veen in Holland.

Predeceased by her parents Anske and Baukje Vellenga; brothers Louie and Bill Vellenga; sister-in-law Ann Vellenga; brothers-in-law Andy (late Norma) Veenstra and Albert (Marie) Veenstra; and her precious granddaughter Vashti Deller.

Tina grew up on a farm in North Holland and immigrated to Canada with her parents in 1951, settling in Middlesex County, where she lived the rest of her life. Her deep love for God and unwavering faith were central to her life. She was actively involved in her church, serving in many roles over the years.

Tina worked for over 40 years as a residential cleaner for families in the community. She loved her family deeply, never missing a birthday call—even for the littlest ones. She leaves behind cherished memories of family dinners and cups of tea shared with loved ones.

She lived a long, full life marked by hard work, humour, and love.

Visitation will be held on Monday, July 14, 2025, at 1:00 p.m. at Bethel Baptist Church, 264 Princess Street, Strathroy, Ontario.
Funeral service to follow at 2:00 p.m. at the same location.

In lieu of flowers, donations to Southwestern Ontario Youth for Christ or 100 Huntley Street (Crossroads Christian Communications Inc.) would be gratefully appreciated.
