Obituary of John Timmermans

Peacefully at home, surrounded by family on May 19^th, 2025 John Timmermans passed away at the age of 97. 

Loving husband of the late Gertrude Timmermans (nee Peters; 2016).

Beloved father of Ken (Antoinette), Martin (Joanne), Ted, Rita (Kevin) Lewis, Gerry (Ann). Predeceased by his son Jack (1995).

 Dear grandpa of Jason, Lynn (Jordan), Julie, Michael (Krista), Ryan (Trudy), Kayla (David), Rachel (Martin), Katie, Jamie (Shannon), Jenna (Tim), Jacqueline, Jazz, Mikaela and great grandpa of Mazie, Norah, Ashton, Max, Molly, Benny, Chistopher, Henry, George, Cornelius, Audrey, Felicity, Hailey, Colton, Jillian and Jon. 

John will be remembered by his surviving sisters Betsy (John), Maria (Arnold) and Bernadette (late Adrian). Predeceased by his siblings Nelly (John), Leonard (Toni), Peter (Tera) and Hubert (Helen). 

He will be missed by his in-laws Anne (John) Geerts, Carol (late Louie) Kennes, Rita (Frank) Vander Kant, Bob (Willie) Peters, Elsie (Alfons) Couwenburg. Predeceased by his in-laws Nellie (John) Dortmans, Mary Peters and John Peters. 

John will be sadly missed by his nieces, nephews, extended family and friends. 

John immigrated to Canada in 1950 and eventually settled on a farm in Adelaide Township. John loved life on the farm. He was hardworking and passed on his love of farming to his family. John and Gertrude enjoyed many years of dancing together and traveling in their retirement years. 

Friends will be received at DENNING’S OF STRATHROY on Sunday, May 25^th from 1:00-4:00pm. A funeral service will take place the following day on Monday, May 26^th, 2025 at 1:00pm at the funeral home.
