Obituary for Elizabeth "Liz" Legg

January 14, 1959 – April 10, 2025

Bravely with her family by her side, Elizabeth “Liz” Legg passed away on April 10th, 2025, in her 67th year at Strathroy Middlesex General Hospital.

A devoted wife, loving mother and grandmother, cherished sister, and loyal friend, Liz's life was marked by strength, creativity, and compassion.

Liz will be deeply missed by her beloved husband of over 45 years, David. Together they built a life full of love and understanding. She is lovingly remembered by her sons Andrew (Simone) Legg and Matthew (Kimberly) Legg, and by the granddaughters she adored, Remy and Jillian, who brought her endless joy and pride.

Liz was a caring sister to Sandra (Bob) Campbell, Mary-Ellen (Steve) Bajura, David (Jennifer) Jackson, and Thomas (Mary) Jackson. She is predeceased by her brother Thomas and by her parents Dorothy (Herbert) and Thomas Jackson.

Her deep appreciation for animals and nature was evident in the way she lived—spending countless days tending to her garden, walking her dogs, caring for horses in the stables, and exploring the shores and oak savannah forests of Lake Huron. Always with a camera in hand, she found beauty in the everyday and captured moments with a quiet reverence.

Professionally, Liz was a passionate and dedicated hairstylist for over 45 years. She owned and operated successful salons in London and Strathroy, earning respect and admiration within her field. Her work took her across Canada and the U.S., where she gained credentials, mentored others, and received recognition for her artistry. Clients were drawn not only to her skill but also to her attention to detail, listening ear, and the joy she brought into every appointment.

Liz faced life’s challenges with remarkable courage and grace. Her perseverance and determination, even in the face of adversity, inspired all who knew her. She found strength and support in her community as “a friend of Bill.”

A private celebration of Liz’s life will be held by her family in the coming months, in a natural setting close to her heart. In honouring her memory, may we carry forward her love for the simple wonders of the world, her unwavering spirit, and her deep commitment to friendship.

Liz will be dearly missed but always remembered.
