Lorna Janet Bycraft (nee Sinclair)
At Sprucedale Care Centre, Strathroy,ON, surrounded by family, peacefully, on March 18th 2025, at age 90. Beloved mother of Tony (Sheila), Janice Dolliver (Ron), and Allyson; loving grandmother of Jeremy (Christine), Joel (Sylvia), Steve (Kristen), Jackie (Max), Tory (Phillip), and Colleen (Mitch).Dear sister of Helen Ruggieri. Pre-deceased by husband, Bruce, and son, Alan. She will be greatly missed by her 5 great-grandchildren and by close family friends, Jill Jeneroux and Christine Welch, as well as her extended family and many friends and neighbours.
A lifelong resident and active member of the Lobo Township community, Lorna was the quintessential homemaker, and the heart and soul of her family. She was an expert seamstress, baker, preserver, vegetable gardener, and pickler, an avid photographer and bridge player, and a joyful dancer and music lover. She was very active in the community, volunteering for many committees and outreach programmes. A founding member of the Coldstream Ladies Euchre Club and the Exercraft Ladies Group, Lorna also played a prominent role in the Coldstream Society of Friends Meeting. Her impressive elementary and high school career left her with a lifelong love of words. She was an avid reader with a penchant for storytelling and witty conversation, always able to put a smile on the faces of her loving late husband, Bruce, and their many friends.
Visitation will be held at Dennings of Strathroy on Monday, March 24th, from 12:00-1:00pm. A funeral service will follow at 1:00pm. Interment at Society of Friends Burial Grounds, Coldstream.
