Roy Franklin Wardell

Suddenly at home on June 28th, 2022, Roy Franklin Wardell passed away. Husband of the late Kay Wardell. Proud father of Mark (Margaret) Wardell. Loving grandpa of Hannah, Phillip, Rebecca, and Peter. Brother of Ila Herrington. Predeceased by parents Norman and Margaret Wardell, and siblings Allan, Ross, Jim, Lorne, and Helen.  Roy will be missed by many nieces, nephews, and extended family.  

Roy was a dedicated fire chief for 20 years for the Adelaide-Metcalfe Fire Department. Roy was a skilled carpenter and built the original fire hall in Kerwood as well other structures in the area.  What made him especially proud was reconstructing an old school house, with his wife Kay, and changing it into their family home.

Visitation will be held on Sunday July 3rd, 2022 from 2:00pm until 5:00pm at DENNING'S OF STRATHROY. Prayers will begin at 2:30pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday July 4th, 2022 at 11:00am at All Saints Roman Catholic Church. Interment will follow at All Saints Roman Catholic Cemetery.
